Americas Government Affairs Manager – Hopkinton, MA

 

Professional to join America’s Government Affairs team with an emphasis on both U.S. federal affairs and New England state / local government affairs. Position will be based in Hopkinton, MA. Responsibilities will include managing relationships with federal, state and local officials, and on-going projects associated with the facilitation of public policies at the federal and state level related to the high technology industry.

 

Specific issues may include:

Education, energy & environment, entrepreneurship & small business development, telecommunications, and procurement policy.

Position will also include activities associated with our political action committee, and management of consultants in select states.

Candidate must be able to navigate and work with a variety of internal business and corporate clients including Sales, Marketing, Communications, Legal, and Facilities.

 Other responsibilities may include:

Effectively using trade associations, consultants and other groups to further business objectives.

The candidate will be tasked with representing the company before U.S., state and local representatives, including members of Congress, governors and other high-level officials.

Qualifications

 

Ideal candidate will possess:

 

An undergraduate degree and 7 years of government and/or government affairs experience, and an understanding of both federal and state legislative processes.

Candidate must also possess strong research, writing and interpersonal relationship skills, as well as the analytical acumen, self-motivation, project planning skills and general business knowledge needed to simultaneously handle multiple projects.

Ability to communicate to internal teams in PowerPoint and via social media platforms a must.

Preference will be given to candidates with some combination of corporate / industry association and state/ local political or policy experience.
