Summary:


Throughout the Boston Celtics’ storied history, they have long stood for equality and respect, including drafting the first African American player, hiring the first African American coach, and playing the first all-black starting five. The Celtics have won a record 17 NBA Championships spanning five (5) decades, including eight (8) in a row from 1959-1966, and winning their most recent in 2008. In addition, forty-one (41) former Celtics players, management, coaches, or staff have been inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. In December 2002 the team returned to local ownership for the first time since 1963.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a passion for sports, an in-depth understanding of social media, and expertise in basketball, music, pop culture, and fashion. This role will report to the Senior Director of Marketing.


Responsibilities:


  • Assist in daily social media platform management development, execution and brand cohesiveness
  • Partner with Content Strategy, Digital Production, and Business Intelligence teams to track consumption and digital trends across Celtics' social platforms
  • Collaborate across all departments to create digital marketing plans for key initiatives, distribution, and brand campaigns
  • Identify industry best practices in fan content, connectivity, social media, and emerging technologies
  • Assist with efforts via social media channels to tell the team’s story during live events including games, practices, community appearances and events based on needs of the organization and corporate partners
  • Help to manage the consistency of brand voice in all owned marketing materials, specifically in relation to the team’s social media presence
  • Ensure that all social media content strictly adheres to the Celtics' brand guidelines and communication policies


Qualifications:


  • Bachelors degree and related experience
  • Minimum 2 years working in sports marketing and/or brand agency
  • Basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office
  • Experience managing, strategizing and evaluating digital platforms
  • Extremely driven and organized
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Possess a forward-looking growth mindset and demonstrate a passion for exploring innovative solutions
