Senior Northeast Democratic Senator is seeking an experienced Counsel to handle and support several domestic policy issues, including Consumer Protection, Campaign Finance, National Security, Technology Policy, Telecom Policy, Cybersecurity, Data Privacy, Intellectual Property, and other issues spanning the Judiciary Committee’s jurisdiction. Responsibilities include advising the Senator on all matters in the issue portfolio; developing and advancing legislative proposals; analyzing legislation; conducting oversight over agencies such as the Federal Communications Commission, the Department of Justice, and the Federal Trade Commission; drafting vote recommendations and talking points for floor votes and proceedings; staffing the Senator in relevant meetings; representing the Senator before constituents and stakeholders; and supervising a Legislative Correspondent. The ideal candidate will have a law degree; experience advising a Member of Congress on the issues in this portfolio; a proven track record of advancing policy proposals; excellent written and verbal communication skills; and enthusiasm for working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
